We transformed your typical health awareness event into an intimate creative social & group blood donation by embracing our audience's love of fashion, food, community and culture.
Giving Black was an intimate Black History Month creative social organised by Nourishment & The Sickle Cell Society, to raise awareness and encourage blood donations.
To boost this activation, we designed playful stickers based on plasters that brought to life the importance of Black Blood donation in a fun way.
The event was held at the lovely Stratford-based Badu Cafe space with a meal/refreshments accompanied by the screening of a short film titled Why Me by Nikki Fagbemi, music, games including Blood Bingo run by The Sickle Cell Society and a guided discussion.
We also ran a raffle to raise funds for The Sickle Cell Society to continue their great work supporting those living with sickle cell.
Prizes came from our entire wider community and friends, ranging from Theatre Tickets to Camden People's Theatre, Tate Modern Tickets, Gifts from Caleb Femi/4th Estate Books, Tribe Named Athari, Wedonate.io, and Workstreet Studios!
The following day, we ran a successful group blood donation with 10 donors at the Stratford Donor Centre.
Client Testimonial: Sarah Babalola Project Manager at Sickle Cell Society
"I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Nourishment team for their exceptional work in organising and executing the blood drive for Black History Month.
Their dedication, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the community were evident in every aspect of the event. On meeting them back in June, their vibe was on point and I instantly knew we were going to have a great working relationship. From the initial planning stages to the execution, they ensured that everything was thoughtfully coordinated and inclusive."
